I am a figurative artist working in oil and acrylic paint. The majority of my professional career has been in Murals and Theatrical Scenic Art for private and public arenas. Influences are traditions of European art from the Archaic to Pop Art. A decade in New Orleans, surrounded by celebratory color and exaggerations of form, where everyone has their personal mythology on display, strengthened my preexisting tendency towards archetypal symbolism and social content. Through painting Floats, Props and  Backdrops I developed my style which brings mythic celebratory energy to the forefront. My art is a synthesis of influences that reduce imagery to essentials and includes the sensibilities of Picasso's generation, American Regionalism, Pop Culture and Greco Roman. It is my joy and aim to bring out the monumental essence that lives within the average person.
